Kind words
"I had the first session of my bump to baby session today and can't recommend Alice highly enough. I was put at ease immediately with her friendly and professional approach. Really looking forward to going back with baby."

What To Do Before The Session
The three-hour newborn session is all about taking things really slowly so that baby stays asleep - hopefully you new baby will arrive sleeping!
There's a few things you can do in preparation for the session to try and encourage your newborn to be asleep; a couple of hours before you are due to come in, give baby a bath or sponge bath and maybe even a wee gentle massage. Try to interact with baby to encourage baby to be awake.
Just before you come in, give baby a feed.
Baby spends most of the time whilst in the studio wrapped in blankets and naked without nappy so there will undoubtedly be accidents - don't worry, I'm totally used to it and have a spare set of clothes nearby!
The studio will be quite warm so make sure you dress in layers so you don't get too warm yourself.
Family Photographs
If you or baby’s brother/sister(s) would like to join your new baby for a few photos then best keep outfits plain and simple. Feel free to bring any wee matching vest etc with cute lettering eg. big sister/little brother etc.
White/cream and pastels work well for young children or for parents both in grey/black/white/cream works well too - depending on whether you prefer a fresh simple look or a darker more dramatic look.
Remember that these photographs are not just for you but for your child to enjoy in the future!
What To Bring
Feel free to bring any wee cute hats, nice blankets, birth mementos etc which might look nice in the photos - if not, don't worry, I have plenty of props in the studio. Bring a dummy if you have no objection to using one. I will only use as a last resort to settle baby.
Plenty of nappies and milk for baby.
A sandwich for yourself is a good idea. ( I will provide tea, coffee and biscuits.)
Special Attention
Dress baby in a loose-fitting babygro with NO VEST and no snowsuit - we want to disturb baby as little as possible when undressing (obviously you can cover with some cosy blankets).
When you arrive - DON'T take baby out of car seat - if it's ok with you, I will take over from then on (unless baby gets upset at all during the session, in which case I'll hand baby to you to soothe as sometimes only Mummy or Daddy will do!)
